4-hour brownout hits Bacolod

A four-hour power interruption disrupted businesses in the downtown area of Bacolod City and in nearby residential subdivisions Thursday afternoon, Sun-Star Bacolod (www.sunstar.com.ph) reported Friday night. The report said Cathy Hernaez, a staff of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco), said the blackout stemmed from three fallen electrical posts of the National Transmission Corp. (Transco) in Mansilingan village. No one was reported hurt from the fallen posts, which a responding Transco maintenance crew immediately repaired. Power service resumed at 6:19 p.m., four hours after it went off at 2 p.m., Hernaez said. Areas affected by the power interruption included the adjacent areas in Bakyas, Mansilingan up to the downtown area. - GMANews.TV
